Accreditation

Please follow these steps to get started with your accreditation application.

  1. Visit the Documentation page to look over the accreditation criteria and our recognition of prior learning policies.

  2. Download the application forms from the Documentation page so you have everything you need to begin.

  3. Reach out to our Accreditation Officer if you would like to chat about your options before you apply.

  4. Lodge your application through the Members Portal once you have your paperwork ready.

    Costs of accredited membership

    The membership year runs 1 July until 30 June. Membership fees are due on 30 June each year. The standard annual membership fee of $150 applies to accredited members.

    A one-off application fee for accreditation is required upon acceptance of accreditation status. The application fees are:

    • Clinical $100
    • Provisional $50
    • Upgrade from Provisional to Clinical $50

    These fees are current as at 1 July 2025.

    Benefits of accreditation

    As an accredited Psychosexual Therapist or Sexuality Educator, you will be recognised as a leading professional in your field in Australia. In addition to the benefits of general membership, you will also receive:

    • Ability for accredited members to be featured on the SAS website with picture, bio and contact details
    • Eligibility for nomination and election to the Board and its executive positions
    • Ability to promote your accreditation status
    • Permission to use the national SAS logo
    • Clinical Accredited Members may promote their accredited status by using the following:
      [Member’s Name] is an Accredited Clinical [Psychosexual Therapist/Sexuality Educator] Member of the Society of Australian Sexologists Ltd. They adhere to the Society’s Code of Ethics and Practice. To find out more, go to www.societyaustraliansexologists.org.au.
    • Provisional Accredited Members may promote their accredited status by using the following:
      [Member’s Name] is an Accredited Provisional [Psychosexual Therapist/Sexuality Educator] Member of the Society of Australian Sexologists Ltd. They adhere to the Society’s Code of Ethics and Practice. To find out more, go to www.societyaustraliansexologists.org.au.
